# Among Us: rules, roles and where to play

Among Us is a social deduction game by Innersloth, released in 2018. Crewmates finish tasks around the map while hidden Impostors sabotage and eliminate them. When a body is found, everyone talks and votes someone out.

## How a round works

A game takes about ten to fifteen minutes. The fun is in the meetings: people argue about who was where, accuse each other and sometimes vote out a friend who was telling the truth.

- **Roles are dealt**: Most players are Crewmates. One to three are secret Impostors.
- **Tasks**: Crewmates do small tasks around the map. Finishing all of them wins the game.
- **Sabotage and kills**: Impostors fake tasks, use vents, break things and take players out.
- **Meetings**: Report a body or hit the emergency button, then everyone discusses.
- **The vote**: The group votes someone off. Impostors win if they match the number of Crewmates left.
- **Maps**: The Skeld, MIRA HQ, Polus, the Airship and the Fungle each have their own tasks, vents and sabotages.

## Extra roles

Innersloth has added roles on top of the basic two. Crewmates can be an Engineer who uses vents, a Scientist who checks vitals, a Guardian Angel, a Tracker or a Noisemaker. Impostors can be a Shapeshifter or a Phantom. Hosts choose which roles are on, so the same lobby can play very differently.


## Where to play Among Us

Among Us is on iPhone, Android, PC through Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation and Xbox, with cross-play between them. The phone versions are free with ads, and the PC and console versions are paid. Up to 15 players fit in one lobby. There is also a separate VR version, Among Us VR.
