Call of Duty: Mobile is a free shooter for iPhone and Android, published by Activision and developed by TiMi Studio Group, part of Tencent. It launched on October 1, 2019. It brings classic Call of Duty multiplayer maps and a 100-player battle royale to touch controls.

## The main modes

Seasons rotate featured modes in and out, so the playlist you see changes over time. Multiplayer and battle royale have separate ranks and loadouts.

- **Multiplayer**: 5v5 matches on maps from older Call of Duty games, like Nuketown, Crash and Hijacked.
- **Team Deathmatch**: First team to the kill limit wins. The best mode to learn the maps.
- **Domination and Hardpoint**: Hold zones on the map to score.
- **Search and Destroy**: One life per round. Plant or defuse the bomb.
- **Battle Royale**: Up to 100 players drop on a large map. Loot, fight and stay inside the circle.
- **Zombies and events**: Zombies and limited modes come and go with the seasons.

## How to start

The game is free on the App Store and Google Play. You start with a few weapons and unlock more as you level up. Each season adds a battle pass with weapons, skins and operators. Cosmetics do not change damage, but weapon attachments and perks do matter.

You can play with touch controls or connect a controller. A round of Team Deathmatch takes only a few minutes, which suits short sessions on a phone.

## Tips for new players

- **Tune the controls first**: Try simple mode (auto-fire) and advanced mode, and pick the one you aim better with.
- **Learn three maps**: Knowing where people run on Nuketown, Crash and Firing Range wins more fights than a new gun.
- **Use your scorestreaks**: A UAV shows enemies on the minimap for your whole team.
- **Play the objective**: In Domination, standing on the flag scores more than chasing kills.

## Shooters on Roam

Block Wars is a 5v5 first-person street shooter on Roam: hold the block, chain kills and call in the ride-by. Block Royale is a top-down battle royale where 24 drop in and one walks out. Last Block Standing is a voxel World War II squad shooter. They are Roam games, not Call of Duty.

## Make your own shooter with Roam

Roam is a free iPhone app that turns a sentence into a playable game. Describe the map, the teams and the win rule, then ask for more weapons or a new mode. Roam is rated 13+ on the App Store.

Try: "5v5 shooter in an abandoned mall, capture the food court, respawn after 5 seconds, my friends are on my squad"
