# Cartoon Cat: the old-cartoon cat that went horror

Source: https://roam.new/cartoon-cat-game/

Cartoon Cat is a horror creature by Canadian artist Trevor Henderson, first posted in 2018. He looks like a cat from a 1930s cartoon, with bendy limbs and a wide grin, but stretched very tall and dropped into real photos. Fans made him a regular in horror fan games.

## Who made Cartoon Cat

Trevor Henderson is a Canadian horror artist known for creatures hidden in edited photos. His first Cartoon Cat images went up in August 2018, and a character sheet followed that October. The same year he created Siren Head, the tall creature with sirens for a head.

Cartoon Cat's trick is the style clash. Old cartoons feel safe and cheerful. Put that style into a grainy real-world photo and it turns unsettling. The idea travelled far enough that Sony's TriStar Pictures picked up film rights to the character.

## What a Cartoon Cat game needs

- **A tall shape at the edge of the screen**: He works best half seen, between trees or at the far end of a road.
- **A cartoon sound in the wrong place**: Old-timey music or a squeaky step in a silent forest does a lot of the work.
- **A goal that keeps you moving**: Collect pages, fix a radio, reach the car. A chase only matters if you need to get somewhere.
- **Light you can run out of**: A flashlight with a battery turns every minute into a choice.

## Horror walks on Roam

Dread Hollow is a first-person horror game on Roam: four case files, one dark house, not much time. It plays like Slender: The Eight Pages, the same collect-under-pressure loop most Cartoon Cat fan games use.

To make him chase you, describe the place and the rule he follows. Keep it spooky rather than gory, so friends of any age can play. Then tune it by talking: 'he only moves when I look away', 'more fog', 'friends carry the other flashlights'.
