# Count Masters: pick the right gates, grow the crowd

Count Masters: Crowd Runner 3D is a mobile runner by Freeplay LLC, out on iOS since May 2021. You lead a crowd of stickmen down a track and steer them through gates that add to or multiply your number. At the end, your crowd clashes with an enemy crowd, and the bigger side wins.

## How a run works

Your crowd runs forward on its own. You only steer left and right. Each pair of gates is a choice, like +20 on one side and x2 on the other. Along the way, traps and enemy groups cut your number down, so the crowd you finish with is rarely the crowd you built.

At the end of a level you meet another crowd, and the two groups trade stickmen until one runs out. Some levels end at a castle with a stick king to beat. Lose too many on the way and the finale is over fast.


## The gate math, with examples

The best gate depends on how many runners you have right now, not on which number looks bigger.

- **Small crowd: 12 runners**: x2 gives 24. +15 gives 27. The plus gate wins.
- **Big crowd: 40 runners**: x2 gives 80. +15 gives 55. The multiplier wins.
- **The rule**: Multiply when your crowd is bigger than the plus number. Add when it is smaller.
- **Then protect it**: A good gate is wasted if you run the crowd into a trap right after.
