# Going Balls: how to roll further without falling

Source: https://roam.new/going-balls/

Going Balls is a rolling-ball game from Supersonic Studios, the makers of GyroSphere. You steer a ball along narrow tracks floating in the sky, collect gems and reach the finish without rolling off the edge. It is free on iPhone and Android.

## How it plays

You hold and drag to steer. The ball keeps its momentum, so the hard part is slowing down and turning, not going fast. Tracks have ramps, moving blocks, swinging hammers and gaps to jump. Each level is short, which makes it easy to try one more.

Gems and coins on the course unlock new ball skins. The levels get longer and narrower as you go.

Going Balls is built for short sessions. A level takes about a minute, and there are hundreds of them, with new ones added in updates. Ads play between levels.

## Tips to stop falling off

- **Steer early**: Start the turn before the corner. The ball needs time to change direction.
- **Let go to slow down**: Easing off is often safer than pulling back hard.
- **Center on narrow parts**: Line up in the middle of the track before a thin bridge, not on it.
- **Time the obstacles**: Wait a beat for moving blocks and hammers. Rushing is the most common fall.
- **Pick a skin you can see**: Some ball skins blend into the track. A bright one is easier to read at speed.

## What makes a rolling course fun

- **Momentum you can feel**: The ball should be slow to turn, so steering becomes a skill.
- **Readable traps**: Hammers and blocks should move on a rhythm you can learn.
- **Short levels**: A one-minute level makes a fall cheap, so you try again.

## Other rolling-ball classics

- **Marble Madness (1984)**: Atari's arcade game, where rolling a marble through a course began.
- **Super Monkey Ball (2001)**: Sega's tilt-the-world ball game with monkeys inside.
- **Ballance (2004)**: A slow, precise PC game about balls of wood, stone and paper.
- **Rolling Sky (2016)**: A phone ball game where the track is timed to music.
