# GTA 6 Online: when it comes out and what to play now Source: https://roam.new/gta-6-online/. Checked November 3, 2026. There is no GTA 6 Online yet. Rockstar calls GTA 6 a single-player experience at its November 19, 2026 launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, has not dated an online mode, and has no phone or PC version. To steal cars with friends on an iPhone now, Roam has a free top-down GTA-style game, and you can make your own. ## Is there a GTA 6 Online at launch? No. Rockstar's pre-order announcement calls Grand Theft Auto VI "a single-player experience". No online mode, beta or date has been announced. That does not mean there will never be one. GTA Online came out on October 1, 2013, about two weeks after GTA V. Rockstar also gives digital GTA 6 pre-orders a free month of GTA+, its GTA Online membership. Treat any online date you see as a rumor until Rockstar posts it. ## Where you can play GTA online today The online GTA that runs right now is GTA Online for GTA V. Rockstar has not said it will close when GTA 6 launches, and Take-Two plans to keep supporting it. - **PS5 and Xbox Series X|S**: GTA V with GTA Online. This is also where GTA 6 will launch, so it is the platform to be on in November. - **PC**: GTA V and GTA Online, with the Enhanced version on PC since March 2025. GTA 6 has no PC version or date. - **PS4 and Xbox One**: GTA V and GTA Online came out on these consoles too, but GTA 6 is not coming to them. - **iPhone and Android**: No GTA 6 and no GTA Online. Older single-player GTA games, such as San Andreas, are sold on the app stores. ## A free GTA-style game on Roam Roam is a free iPhone app where you play small games and make your own. One of them is close to the GTA loop. What is the same: you take cars that are not yours and drive them around a city. What is different: it is a top-down phone game, not a 3D open world, it has no story campaign, and it has nothing to do with Rockstar. - **Steal Every Car**: A top-down car-theft sandbox with one rule: if it has wheels, it can be yours. Play it solo, or with friends in the same city. ## Make your own GTA 6-style game If you would rather build your own Vice City, keep the parts that make GTA feel like GTA and describe them to Roam in one sentence. It comes back playable, with a world, art, characters, sound and rules. Then change it by talking: "more cops", "add a boat", "make it two-player". Friends join from the app, or you play solo first and send it when they are on. - **Any car is yours**: Walk up, take it, drive. The fun is grabbing whatever is closest when things go wrong. - **Heat that rises**: Cops show up, then more cops. Losing them is a game of its own. - **Jobs that pay**: Deliver a car, rob a shop, escape a chase. GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, as a single-player game. **Can you play GTA 6 on phone or PC?** No. It launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. No PC or mobile version has been announced. **Can I play GTA 6 with friends?** Not at launch, as far as Rockstar has said.
