Roblox is not a single game. It is a platform where players make games and other players join them. Building that platform takes an engine, an editor, servers, moderation and payments. Most people searching this want something smaller, and that part is doable.

## What cloning Roblox would take

Roblox launched in 2006. Behind it sit years of work by a large company.

- **An engine and an editor**: Something like Roblox Studio, where people build maps and write scripts.
- **A scripting language**: Roblox games are scripted in Luau. Yours would need its own.
- **Servers**: Every game needs multiplayer servers that start and stop as players join.
- **Safety and moderation**: Chat filters, reports and review for everything people upload.
- **Apps on every device**: Phones, PCs and consoles, all updated together.

## Goal 1: make a Roblox game

Roblox Studio is free and runs on Windows and macOS, not on phones or iPads. Start from a template like an obby, edit it, and publish it to Roblox. Roblox is also testing Build, an AI tab in its mobile app, in a public alpha in some regions.


## Goal 2: make and share games on your phone

If what you love is making a game and playing it with friends, Roam does that on iPhone. It is free.
