# Make me a Roblox game: the honest answer

A game on Roblox has to be made with Roblox's own tools: Roblox Studio, or Roblox Build, the prompt-to-game tab Roblox announced in July 2026. No outside AI can put a finished game on Roblox for you. What Roam can do is make a Roblox-like game that you play in Roam, from a single sentence.

## Your options for a real Roblox game

- **Roblox Studio**: Free, on Windows and macOS. You build and script the game yourself in Luau. Many free tutorials start with an obby.
- **Roblox Build**: A prompt-to-game tab in the Roblox mobile app. Its public alpha began in New Zealand, it needs an age check (accounts 9+) and it has a daily AI allowance.
- **A hired developer**: Scripters and builders take paid work. Get the deal in writing, including who owns the game.

## Roblox-like games you can make on Roam

Roam is a separate free iPhone app. You type what you want, it comes back playable, and you change it by talking. Roam does not publish to Roblox, but it does make the kinds of games people play there. Copy one of these sentences:

- **Obby**: "neon obby on a sky island, disappearing blocks, 3 lives, my friend is the killbrick." For an example, play Clack Obby, where you jump across a giant keyboard.
- **Horror**: "horror in my school at night, the janitor hunts us, find 5 keys, my friends are the other survivors." TALLOW, a first-person escape from a tidy house, shows the style.
- **Brainrot**: "brainrot steal, 8 bases, multiplayer, my friends are the rare ones." Attack on Brainrot, a grapple-swing game against giant memes, is another take.
- **Tycoon**: "lemonade tycoon on a beach, droppers make lemons, conveyors sell them, rebirth at 1 million."
- **Tower defense**: "tower defense in a kitchen, towers are spoons and forks, ants attack in 10 waves."

## After the first version

Play it, then say what to change: "add checkpoints", "more coins on the hard path", "make it two-player". Send it to friends so they can join. If you later want the game on Roblox itself, your Roam version is a clear brief for Studio or a scripter.

## Questions people ask

**Can AI make me a Roblox game?**
On Roblox itself, Roblox Build is the AI option, and it started as an alpha in New Zealand. Outside tools cannot publish a game to Roblox for you.

**Can Roam publish to Roblox?**
No. Roam games are played in Roam. They can be Roblox-like: obby, horror, brainrot, tycoon.

**Can someone make a Roblox game for me for free?**
Rarely. Developers usually charge. If you want to play your idea, Roam on iPhone makes it from a description: making works without a subscription, and optional plans add more creation.
