# New horror games from autumn 2026

Autumn 2026 has been heavy for horror: a new Silent Hill, a Hellraiser game, a dinosaur stealth game from the Monstrum studio, and The Exit 8 film pulling new players toward anomaly games. ## Big single-player scares

- **Silent Hill: Townfall**: A Silent Hill spin-off from Scottish studio Screen Burn Interactive, set in 1996 in a fog-covered Scottish coastal town. Out September 24 on PS5 and PC, with generally favorable reviews.
- **Clive Barker's Hellraiser: Revival**: Saber Interactive's take on the film series, out October 8 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2. Very divisive: review scores ran from 4.5 to 9 out of 10.

## Indie and strange

- **Wilderdark**: Junkfish, the studio behind Monstrum, made stealth survival horror on an island where a parasite corrupts the dinosaurs. Predators hunt by sight and sound, so you hide, take photos and collect samples. Out November 3 on Steam.
- **The Exit 8 effect**: The Exit 8 film, based on Kotake Create's 2023 game, reached US cinemas on April 10, 2026. The game's rule is simple: walk the passage, spot what changed, turn back. Eight correct calls in a row get you out.

## Scary and social

If your group wants to be scared together, start with Reanimal from Tarsier, the studio that created Little Nightmares. It came out on February 13, 2026 on PC, PS5, Xbox Series and Switch 2. A brother and sister cross a flooded, monster-filled island to rescue their friends, in two-player co-op on one couch or online. A Friend's Pass lets a second player join without buying the game.

## First-person horror on Roam
