# New train games, from calm drives to survival on the rails

Train games split into two moods: calm driving sims and survival rides where the train is all that stands between you and the dark. Dead Rails made train survival a hit on Roblox in 2025, and Unrailed 2 left early access in June 2026. Here are the new ones and the classics, sorted by how fast your heart should beat.

## Calm driving

- **Train Sim World 6 (Dovetail Games, September 2025)**: Real routes, real cabs, every lever. New trains and routes kept arriving through 2026 as add-ons. On PC, PlayStation and Xbox.
- **Densha de Go! (Taito)**: The Japanese train-driving classic. Brake right and stop exactly on the line. The newer Switch version follows the Yamanote Line in Tokyo.
- **Derail Valley (Altfuture)**: A hands-on sim where you run the locomotive yourself, couple cars and deliver cargo. Its big Simulator update in 2023 rebuilt how the engines work. On PC and VR.

## Build the track together

- **Unrailed 2: Back on Track (full release June 11, 2026)**: Co-op chaos for up to four: chop trees, mine iron and lay track in front of a train that never stops. On PC, PS5, Switch and Switch 2.

## Survival on the rails

Roam, a free iPhone app, has four train games. Gasp Express is train survival with a twist: the train leaves soon, your oxygen runs out sooner. Outrun the Fog asks you to keep the fire hot, because the fog has eyes. Next Stop: Ghouls is a shooter where every stop is full of ghouls.

For the calm side, Brake for Sunsets is a Densha de Go!-style drive: twenty routes through autumn hills, and you stop on the line.

- **Dead Rails on Roblox (RCM Games, 2025)**: Drive a train across a long desert route, scavenge towns for fuel and fight off the undead after dark. It is free and best with friends on the cars.
- **Choo-Choo Charles (Two Star Games)**: You upgrade an old train to hunt a monster train with spider legs. Short, strange and very memorable.
