# Party Animals: fluffy animals, very rough fights

Party Animals is a physics brawler by Recreate Games, released on September 20, 2023 on PC and Xbox, with crossplay between them. A PlayStation 5 version followed in January 2025. You pick a soft, wobbly animal and try to knock your friends out of the arena by grabbing, punching and throwing them.

## How a match works

Every character is a fluffy animal with floppy physics: puppies, kittens, ducks, sharks in costume and more. The controls are simple. You can punch, kick, headbutt, jump, grab and throw. Because the bodies wobble, nothing goes quite as planned, which is the joke and the skill at the same time.

Maps are full of hazards and props. Some have edges to throw people off, some have moving parts, and weapons like bats and toy guns show up in the middle of a fight. Some rounds are last animal standing, and others have teams racing for a goal.

It is made for friends. You can play online, or with up to four players on one split screen through a custom game. Launch was rough because of the huge demand on the servers, but the game has been updated a lot since, including new modes.


## Tips for winning brawls

- **Grab, then walk**: Holding someone and carrying them to the edge beats hitting them over and over.
- **Knock them out first**: A few hits in a row stun a player, and a stunned player is easy to throw.
- **Let go when grabbed**: Mash to break free and get away from the edge before trying to fight back.
- **Watch the map**: Many rounds are won by the hazard, not the punch.
