The Mimic is a story-driven horror game on Roblox by the developer MUCDICH. It is split into books, and each book into chapters. Every chapter is a dark, mostly first-person level drawn from Japanese folklore and urban legends, with chase scenes, puzzles and monsters that are hard to forget.

## How the chapters work

Then the chases start. A creature finds you and you run a set route, often through narrow halls where one wrong turn ends it. Some parts are about hiding and timing instead. The game uses darkness, sound and short glimpses more than constant action.

The chapters lean on Japanese folklore, with yokai, cursed spirits and old rituals. The developer has revamped older chapters over time, so a chapter you played once may look different now. Because the story is told in parts, players often replay earlier chapters to catch details they missed.
