New shooter games of 2026

The shooter year ran from Bungie's Marathon in March to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 in late October, with Battlefield 6 still busy from last fall. Here are the new shooters worth trying, where each one plays, and Roam shooters sorted by match size.

The new shooters, newest first

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 (Infinity Ward, October 23, 2026). On PS5, Xbox Series, PC and Nintendo Switch 2 from launch day.
Marathon (Bungie, March 5, 2026). A sci-fi extraction shooter for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. You go in for loot and only keep what you carry out.
Battlefield 6 and REDSEC (EA, October 2025). Big-team warfare on PS5, Xbox Series and PC since October 10, 2025, plus REDSEC, a free standalone battle royale that launched on October 28, 2025.
RIVALS (Roblox). Nosniy Games' Roblox shooter from 2024: short duels and small team fights.
Free Fire Max (Garena). The upgraded version of Garena's free battle royale for iOS and Android, out since 2021. Matches are short and built for phones.

Roam shooters by match size

Pick the size of the fight first. A 1v1 is tense and short. A 5v5 needs callouts. A horde game is you against everything, no team needed.

1v1: CLUTCH. One rival, five rounds, and the win often comes on your last 20 HP.
5v5 bomb: FUSE. Buy your gun, hold the site, defuse. Counter-Strike rules on a phone.
Team rifles: DUSTLINE. Sandstone streets, two halves, one rifle.
5v5 street: Block Wars. Hold the block, chain kills, call in the ride-by.
Free-for-all: Crumble Clash. A neon voxel city where walls crumble. First to 15 wins.
Horde: Toll the Horde. Ring the bell, they rise, shoot until dawn.
