skribbl.io is a free multiplayer draw-and-guess game on the web. Each turn one player gets a word and draws it, and everyone else types guesses into the chat. The faster you guess right, the more points you get, and the drawer scores when people get it.

How a game works

The drawer picks one of a few words and has a set time to draw it. Guessers see blanks for each letter, and hints reveal letters as the clock runs down. A correct guess earns points based on how quickly you got it. Wrong guesses show up in chat for everyone, which is half the comedy.

Turns rotate until every player has drawn in every round. The player with the most points at the end wins. Public rooms put you with strangers. Most people use private rooms with friends.

Set up a private room

Create the room. Choose to create a private room on the main page and share the invite link with friends.
Pick the settings. The host sets the number of players, the draw time, the number of rounds and how many hints appear.
Add custom words. Type your own words separated by commas. Inside jokes, names and game titles work well.
Use only your words. A checkbox makes the game use only the custom list instead of mixing it with the default words.

Tips for drawing and guessing

Draw the big shape first. An outline gets guesses going sooner than details.
Watch the letter count. The blanks rule out most wrong answers.
Guess often. Wrong guesses cost nothing, so type everything that comes to mind.
