Fall Guys: bean races, rounds and one crown

Fall Guys is a party royale made by Mediatonic, the UK studio now owned by Epic Games. It came out in August 2020 and has been free to play since June 2022. A big lobby of jelly-bean characters runs a show of obstacle rounds, and only the last bean standing wins the crown.

How a Fall Guys show works

Each show is a short series of rounds. Early rounds are races: run through spinning bars, swinging hammers and falling floors, and reach the finish before the qualifying spots fill up. Anyone too slow is out.

Middle rounds mix things up with survival rounds, where you stay on the platform the longest, and team rounds, where your group has to win a game like pushing a giant ball into a goal. The last round is a final with only a few beans left, and one of them takes the crown.

Race rounds. Get to the finish line in time. Grabbing and shoving other beans is allowed.
Survival rounds. Avoid the sweeper or the falling tiles for as long as you can.
Team rounds. Your team wins or loses together, so a bad round can knock out a good player.
Finals. One winner. Everyone else goes back to the lobby.

Where to play the official game

Fall Guys is free on PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and PC through the Epic Games Store. It left Steam when it went free in 2022. Since August 2024 it has also been on phones through the Epic Games Store app: on Android worldwide, and on iPhone only in the European Union.

Money in Fall Guys goes into cosmetics and the season pass. Costumes do not change how fast or strong your bean is.

Party knockout games on Roam
