Steal games online: why everyone is stealing on Roblox
Many of Roblox's biggest recent games share one title shape: Steal a, Grow a, Be a or Survive something. Steal games are the loudest of them. You build up a base, other players raid it, and you raid theirs. Here is why it works and which ones to try.

How a steal game works
- Collect. You get things that earn money over time and put them in your base.
- Guard. A lock or a door holds for a while. Then it opens and your base is exposed.
- Raid. You run into another player's base, grab their best item and carry it home before they catch you.
- Trade up. Better items earn more, which buys better items. Everything is visible, so you always see what to steal next.
Steal games worth trying
- Steal a Brainrot. The one that started the wave, released May 2025 by SpyderSammy. Buy brainrot characters, guard them, steal the best ones. It set the Roblox record at over 25 million players at once.
- Steal An Egg. A newer hit from Misfitsbsthree and Brockodile. Sneak eggs away from animals, hatch them and earn coins. It peaked above 14 million players at once.
- Grow a Garden. Not a steal game, but the March 2025 idle hit that set the template: plant, harvest, buy rarer seeds. It passed 22 million players at once in August 2025.
- Jailbreak. Not a steal-a game, but the Roblox robbery classic from 2017: rob the bank as a criminal or chase robbers as police.
Why the format took over
Steal games turn other players into the content. Nobody needs a level designer when your neighbor's base is the level. Rounds are short, the goal is clear, and losing your best item to a friend is a reason to play one more round.
The title template helps too. A name like Steal a ... tells you the whole game before you join, which matters when people scroll fast.

Roam is a free iPhone app with its own stealing games. Steal Every Car is a top-down sandbox: if it has wheels, it can be yours. Nightfall: Thief Simulator is a night of burglary to make $600. Vault Breaker is a first-person voxel bank heist.
