Tower Defense Simulator on Roblox: how towers and waves work

Tower Defense Simulator, or TDS, is a co-op tower defense game on Roblox by Paradoxum Games, released in June 2019. You and your team place towers along a path to stop waves of zombies, with a boss waiting at the end of each run.

How a match works

Before the match you pick a loadout of towers. On the map, enemies walk a fixed path toward your base. You earn cash as waves go by, and you spend it placing new towers or upgrading the ones you have.

Placement is the whole game. Towers near bends hit enemies for longer. Some towers deal splash damage, some slow, some find hidden enemies. A team that covers each other's gaps can take on bosses no solo player could.

Runs are long enough that the early waves matter. Cash you save on wave three is a tower you can afford when a boss shows up, so teams talk about who builds what before the first enemy appears.

Modes from easy to brutal

Easy and Casual. Open from the start. Good for learning towers and placement.
Intermediate. Unlocks at level 5. Waves get tougher and mistakes cost more.
Molten. Unlocks at level 15. Reworked in December 2024 with 35 waves and the Molten Warlord as its final boss.
Fallen. Unlocks at level 30. Ends with the Fallen King.
Hardcore. Unlocks at level 50. The hardest standard mode.

Tips for new players

Cover the bends. A tower at a corner keeps enemies in range for longer.
Upgrade before you spread. One strong tower often beats three weak ones.
Plan for hidden enemies. Bring at least one tower that can see them.

Roam tower defense games

These are separate Roam games, not TDS, for when you want a quick round of the same place-and-hold feeling.

LAST LINE. Twelve waves, one bridge, your crew.
Tee Off the Dead. Zombies on the course and a golf club to defend with.
