PowerWash Simulator: why washing dirt off is so satisfying
PowerWash Simulator is a cleaning game by FuturLab, released in full on July 14, 2022 for PC and Xbox after about a year in Early Access. You take jobs, point a pressure washer at grimy vans, playgrounds and houses, and wash every surface back to clean. A sequel, PowerWash Simulator 2, came out on October 23, 2025.
Why it feels so good
Every second of spraying shows progress. A stripe of clean paint appears wherever the water hits, and dirt does not come back. There is no enemy and no timer, just a messy thing turning clean.
Each part of an object counts on its own. Finish a wheel, a window or a step and the game marks it done with a little flash and sound, so a big job breaks into many small wins. The last few specks become a hunt, and finding them is half the fun.
It is also calm, which is why many players use it to wind down after a long day. There is no way to lose a job, only a way to finish it.
How the game works
- Jobs. A career mode of cleaning jobs, from a van to a whole house, paid when finished.
- Gear. Earnings buy new washers, nozzles and cleaning products.
- Co-op. Friends can join online and clean the same job.
- Platforms. PC and Xbox at launch, then PlayStation and Switch on January 31, 2023.
- Sequel. PowerWash Simulator 2 is on PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 and PC.
