Papa's Pizzeria: take the order, top it, bake it, cut it
Papa's Pizzeria is a time-management cooking game by Flipline Studios, released on August 7, 2007. You run Papa Louie's pizza shop alone: take orders, add toppings, bake and slice each pizza exactly as the customer asked. It started a long series of Papa's restaurant games.
How a shift works
Customers line up at the counter and tell you what they want: which toppings, how long to bake it and how many slices. Each order goes on a ticket, and you work through four steps. The tricky part is that several pizzas are in the oven at once while new customers keep coming in.
- Order. Take the ticket. It shows toppings, where they go, bake time and cuts.
- Topping. Place each topping on the right part of the pizza, in the right amount.
- Baking. Pull the pizza out at the right moment. Under or over costs points.
- Cutting. Slice it into the number of pieces on the ticket, as evenly as you can.
Tips, points and ranks
After serving, the customer scores each step. A close match means bigger tips and more points. Points raise your rank, which unlocks new toppings and new customers. Later Papa's games added badges for regular customers, who tip more as they rank up.
The rest of the Papa's series
Flipline followed with many shops in the same style, including Papa's Burgeria, Freezeria, Pancakeria, Taco Mia, Cupcakeria and Sushiria. The early games were free Flash games on the web. Mobile versions came later as HD games for tablets and To Go! games for phones; Papa's Pizzeria To Go! arrived in 2014. In 2024 Flipline released Papa's Pizzeria Deluxe on Steam.
