Evade: run from the nextbots until the timer ends
Evade is a Roblox survival game by Hexagon Development Community, released in 2022. A big group of players shares a map with nextbots: flat meme images that slide toward you very fast and loud. You run, jump and slide to stay alive until the round timer ends, and pick up teammates who get caught.
What nextbots are
Nextbots started as a Garry's Mod idea: a 2D picture, often a meme face, that chases players through a 3D map with its own sound. They look silly in screenshots and feel scary when one is right behind you. Evade made them the center of a Roblox game, and it became one of the best-known nextbot games.
How a round works
Everyone spawns on a map with several nextbots. There is no fighting back. Your tools are movement and the map: long halls, stairs, roofs and gaps. If a nextbot catches you, you are downed, not out. A teammate can revive you within a time limit by standing next to you, and reviving pays extra rewards. The bigger the group still standing, the more chances everyone has to be revived, so helping others is also how you keep yourself alive.
Survive until the timer runs out and you win the round. Points buy cosmetics, emotes and items that help, like ones that speed up revives. The game has several modes you choose from a mode browser on the menu.
Movement tips
- Keep your speed. Chaining jumps and slides keeps you faster than walking.
- Use corners. Nextbots go straight for you, so sharp turns buy distance.
- Revive smart. Standing still next to a downed player is the fastest way to get downed yourself. Check behind you first.
- Learn each map. Knowing where the loops and high ground are matters more than speed.
