GTA 6: release date, price and editions

GTA 6 release date and unlock time

Rockstar Games set November 19, 2026 after two delays. The game was first aimed at fall 2025, then moved to May 26, 2026, then to November 19. As of early November 2026 there is no new delay.

Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026. Rockstar Support says pre-load starts at local midnight on November 12, the day boxed copies go on sale, so you can download the game a week early. It stays locked until launch. Rockstar has not confirmed the unlock hour. PlayStation Store listings point to midnight on November 19.

GTA 6 on PS5, Xbox, PC and phone

GTA 6 launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only, at the same price and on the same day. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version.

There is no PC version yet. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has said Rockstar historically launches on some platforms first and moves to others later. GTA V reached PC about 19 months after its console launch, Red Dead Redemption 2 about a year after. Any GTA 6 PC date you see is a guess.

There is no GTA 6 for iPhone or Android. An app offering a GTA 6 mobile download is not from Rockstar.

GTA 6 price, editions and the physical copy

The boxed copy has no disc. Rockstar says the physical version has a download code inside the box, and a disc will not be included. You download the whole game either way, and the code must match the region of your console account.

• Standard Edition, $79.99. The game on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, as a digital purchase or a boxed code.
• Ultimate Edition, $99.99. Adds exclusive vehicles, weapons, outfits and more. It is digital only. Boxed Standard owners can buy the upgrade on the PlayStation or Xbox store after redeeming their code.
• Pre-order bonus. Every pre-order and purchase before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack. Digital pre-orders also get a free month of GTA+.
• The Vice City Collection, $399.99. Rockstar's collector's box: 11 items, including a Macca the Gator figure, Oakley sunglasses and a double-sided Leonida map poster. It ships November 19 and does not include the game.

Something like it on your phone

For a crime sandbox on your iPhone while you wait, Roam is a free app with small games that pick up parts of the formula. They are separate games, not GTA, and not from Rockstar.

• Steal Every Car. A top-down car-theft sandbox: if it has wheels, you can take it. Solo or with friends.
• Vault Breaker. A first-person voxel bank heist with a hammer and a vault to crack.
